Kendall Stubbs

Hey! My name is Kendall Stubbs and I studied English Literature and minored in French. I developed an appreciation not only for literature but also for language and how it is significant within ever society.

I hold a bachelor’s degree at Saint Mary’s University, in Canada, and I am from The Bahamas in Caribbean! In my country English Language is our first language, but we also have a dialect that is very rich. As a language student myself and a passionate reader of literature, I know the bliss of understanding and being understood! There is no better feeling in the world than when things make sense. With this motto, I intend to create an environment for my students that is comfortable and meaningful.

I am an aspiring teacher with experience in working with autistic kids and adults. This opportunity has improved my knowledge of autism, child development and teaching life skills through artistic forms. I have also had the opportunity to tutor at Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) after I concluded my undergraduate course. I assisted an adult immigrant and developed a plan to improve his proficiency in English and help him better adapt to the Canadian culture.

Music is my passion and I believe that it deserves the same level of critical analyses as literature. It is a universal language that we all understand and enjoy. My favorite genre of Music is Jazz, which is an exquisite and elegant style of music. Besides listening to music, I also enjoy cooking and spending time with friends and family!
